I’m still in shock that I’m saying the words “I’m moving to Disney World” let alone the fact that it’s only 100 days away today! Time is flying so quickly I just can’t believe it. When I first found out I was accepted into the Cultural Representative Program it was 194 days until the big move. Now, it’s 3 months later and I’ve somehow lost a lot of time here in the UK. Don’t get me wrong I am counting down the days until the big move and can’t wait to be out there making magic. But, I just physically cannot believe how quickly time is flying by.

At this point is usually when all of your own personal jobs prior to the move need to be done. I’m a crazy organised person that has already got pretty much everything sorted so I am sitting back and having a relax. As we speak my car is currently having an MOT and service and I have an appointment to sort out my contact lenses and pick up my new glasses and prescription sunglasses tomorrow – so that’s two huge jobs off of my own personal list.

But, there are other jobs that all CRP applicants need to get sorted which includes medical insurance, VISA appointment, booking your flight, accommodation…the list feels never ending. As soon as I found out I was accepted I wrote my to do list straight away and booked my flight almost instantly. I will be flying out two days before my program start date to find my feet in the 5 hour time difference. As my program start date is June 4th and we are flying out the 2nd we have two nights where we needed accommodation. We discussed staying in a Disney resort (there’s four of us) and after a few phone calls got an awesome deal on ‘Disney’s Art of Animation Resort’ which I could not be more excited about. It’s been a dream of mine to stay there for as long as I can remember and we’re even staying in a suite! We don’t know what theme it will be yet but it will either be The Lion King, Finding Nemo or Cars! All awesome choices.

My medical insurance is all booked and was so much easier than I thought it would be. I’ve been buying some essentials every time I see something I might need and of course my wardrobe has been expanding nearly every time I take a visit into Primark…The main job I have left to sort now is my bank card/money situation which I’m still trying to understand/discover the best way to do it.

As many of you know I currently work at the Disney Store and didn’t want to completely leave my job behind. So, I’ve been extremely lucky and have been granted sabbatical for my year away as I am going to work elsewhere in the company! I don’t want to think about my return to the UK when I haven’t even left yet but knowing I’m returning home to a job (and a job I love) is a huge weight off of my chest.

My embassy appointment still needs to be sorted but the government don’t get in contact with you until about roughly a month before your start date so sadly that is something I can’t organise myself.

Over the next few months I will be getting super excited with making CRP bucket lists, packing and saying goodbye to the UK. Here’s the link to my last CRP post if you missed it. Thank you for reading a part in my magical adventure.
